Aisclo Gauging Station

At the heart of Desfiladero d'As Cambras defile, through which the waters of the Bellos River flow between the rocks of Aisclo Canyon, there is a gauging station that stands in the spot known as Latiallas (at 7.5 km).

It is not a notable feature from the technical or hydraulic point of view, but it does add to the landscape in the canyon.

Many visitors travelling along this road stop here to admire the small bridge and the small, white-painted house, perhaps because nature reveals herself in this wild and breath-taking spot.

We might, therefore, think that natural landscapes, however beautiful and spectacular they may be, are appreciated all the more by modern men and women if they contain some element created by humans that is capable of blending in with its natural surroundings.

This place fulfils this theory by demonstrating that a simple walkway and an edifice of no architectural value whatsoever are capable of creating a landscape beautiful enough to be admired, photographed and featured in numerous publications that single out the most attractive spots in the protected area.
